THE GREEN CHAIR
That damned chair!
The title refers to a certain chair, that happens to be a certain color. So, one might ask -- does it really exist? Yes, there really is a chair and it really is green, and it really does exist, both in the world of this film, and also in the literal world. The chair serves the script in various ways. It might be that elusive "Mcguffin" that Hitchcock referred to. It might be a plot point in the script, it might be the object of obsession -- but it most certainly does exist. Even though some of the characters in this story might wish otherwise...
